Is there a way to "host" internet links online in some way so you can access it from two different computers?

I'm compiling a lot of different links lately from two different PCs and it's getting ponderous with all the stories and such piling up over Climategate. I'll often find myself at home wanting links I saved at work or vise versa. It would be nice if I could save them to a place that I could access no matter where I am. I've been sending them to myself in emails but that is fraught with potential for mistakes.

If you are on broadband you can get a home router that will host four PCs over the one connection.

Thanks Richard, but my problem is two different computers in two different locations that I save links to.

Ah! Does this mean your other PC is left on line unsupervised? Not an idea that appeals to me. If you know the IP can you not connect via FTP?

Oh no. I only turn on a PC when I'm using it.

Just found the solution I was looking for. Yahoo has a link hosting feature called "Delicious". I just uploaded all the links from this PC and will be able to access them from any computer. Perfect.

A couple of years ago I ran a small web page hosted by my service provider so family and friends could keep track of my home build. Could keep a lot of stuff in those folders and access any time from any computer with access to the net. Sound like a similar system.

I had the solution under my fingertips the entire time. Just found out Google bookmarks does exactly what I wanted (better than Delicious since it is on the toolbar and doesn't require visiting a website). I had assumed it worked like the IE/Firefox bookmarks (only on the current computer) but the bookmarks are stored online with Google. I had the Google toolbar on both computers so I'm all set. Now I just click the bookmarks button and all the links pop up.

Nice to have a solution be simple now and then.

I know the feeling. I just spent over two hours this morning trying to erect a small scafold tower. It was, to say the least, WONKY. I'll never be able to work on that I thought. Dismantled it and went for lunch.

During lunch I had a mental picture how it should go. Went out and erected the blasted thing in twenty minutes. Sheesh.

Thanks for the tip about Google Bookmarks. I don't like google very much because they keep taking over my screen space.

Why don't you just export the bookmarks and favorites to a flash drive, or to a folder on the desktop?

If you export them to a flash drive, you can import them on another PC. If you do it in a folder and share it, you can import them over a network.
