South America Gripped By Brutal Winter
No Tricks Zone

July 26,2011

P. Gosselin

German climate blog Readers Edition here has been keeping an eye on the winter in South America. While much of the news has been buzzing about the “record heat wave” hitting the US last week (a whopping 0.4% of the stations reported record highs! /sarc), Europe and South America for example are being left out in the cold.

It is our attitude toward free thought and free expression that will determine our fate. There must be no limit on the range of temperate discussion, no limits on thought. No subject must be taboo. No censor must preside at our assemblies.

–William O. Douglas, U.S. Supreme Court Justice, 1952
The new Maunder Minimum is starting to bite!
More confirmation, this time from South Africa.
First quote is from Johannesburg dated 23 July.

Quote:Just by the way -- today we had 20 deg, while most of the eastern half of the country has had the heavest snow in 20 years. Tomorrow we are supposed to get some as well with a temp of 10.

Second quote from Haga-Haga, on the coast just north of East London, dated 26 July.
Quote:Very cold and wet here. Measured over 70mm rain. Snow at Bisho and at the farm - most unusual. E Cape Mt passes closed and 1m snow recorded at Penhoek Pass.

The Penhoek Pass is on the R30, the major trunk road between Bloemfontein and Bisho in the Eastern Cape. The pass is in the Stormberg mountains at 2,127 metres above sea level.

I lived in South Africa for twenty years and only ever saw snow once and that was at Matatiele on the Drakensberg mountains in 1975 (I think).
Environmentalism is based on lies and the lies reflect an agenda that regards humanity as the enemy of the Earth. - Alan Caruba
