New paper affirms Sun was particularly active in late 20th century
The Hockey Schtick
April 20,2011 EXCERPT: A paper published today in The Journal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics confirms prior studies showing that solar activity was particularly active in the late 20th century. Another recent and related paper by the same lead author Mike Lockwood states, LINK It is our attitude toward free thought and free expression that will determine our fate. There must be no limit on the range of temperate discussion, no limits on thought. No subject must be taboo. No censor must preside at our assemblies. –William O. Douglas, U.S. Supreme Court Justice, 1952 |

RE: New paper affirms Sun was particularly active in late 20th century
That should not be a surprise to anyone! Our star is by far the biggest and most powerful object in the solar system so, logically, one would expect that by far the main driver for "climate" on all the planets would be changes in the activity of our star. And there is much more to solar activity than the mere changes in brightness (0.1%) that the alarmists claim cannot be responsible for climate change.
As alluded to in the paper- cosmic ray flux changes greatly, as well of course as magnetic, solar flare and changes in the solar wind, all of which influence our weather and climate. CO2 is a red herring! Interesting though that Lockwood should publish this, and even reference Svensmark. I thought he was firmly in the CO2 warmist camp, maybe he is finally starting to see sense? |
