EXCERPT:

By Bryan Bender, Globe Staff

WASHINGTON -- Massive crop devastation, melting glaciers, water shortages, millions of displaced people -- all of these will drag the US military into conflict if global climate change goes unchecked, a Senate panel was warned today.

The Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing, convened by Senator John F. Kerry of Massachusetts, focused on what so far has received only modest attention in the climate change debate: the effect it is bound to have on national defense.

==============================================

Seems to me a good example of the alarmist desperation,in the face of a real cooling trend that is in direct contradiction of the IPCC's predictions,they posted back in 2001.

It is our attitude toward free thought and free expression that will determine our fate. There must be no limit on the range of temperate discussion, no limits on thought. No subject must be taboo. No censor must preside at our assemblies.

Re: Kerry panel looks at climate change and national security
So, how will they "uncheck" the natural warming trend when it returns?

Have they even checked to notice that we aren't warming?

In the interest of National Security, they at least should check to notice that we aren't warming, wouldn't you think?

I know you think you understand what you thought I said,
but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant!

Re: Kerry panel looks at climate change and national security
He is trying to recover the money his wife gave to Hansen with the Hienz award. If he can get Car and Tax passed then he makes money. This charade has nothing to do with controlling temperatures. If they were actually concerned about national security then they would take steps to start utilizeing our owhn resources. They would attempt to remove the goverment regulatioons that forced buisnesses to relocate over seas. This country depends on foriegn countries to produce a good amount of product.
One last issue with this is that Cooling causes more problems than warming so they are looking at it backwards.

They would have also been pushing Oil drilling and Nuclear power plants.
