Sea-Level Acceleration Based on U.S. Tide Gauges ...
A new paper on sea level counters the claims of the IPCC et al.

RE: Sea-Level Acceleration Based on U.S. Tide Gauges ...
ANOTHER science paper concluding that there are NO sea level increase's to worry about.
Satellite data shows that sea level rise is slowing down. Science Research say the sea level rise is slowing down very slowly over many decades time frame. Media and environmentalists groups say that sea level rise is accelerating. Which group is more credible?

RE: Sea-Level Acceleration Based on U.S. Tide Gauges ...
As you'd expect, the alarmists are not happy with that and are using a 'correction' on the satellite data to try to remove the deceleration:
http://wattsupwiththat.com/2011/05/05/ne...do-now-up/ Quote:One important change in these releases is that we are now adding a correction of 0.3 mm/year due to Glacial Isostatic Adjustment (GIA), so you may notice that the rate of sea level rise is now 0.3 mm/year higher than earlier releases. This is a correction to account for the fact that the global ocean basins are getting slightly larger over time as mantle material moves from under the oceans into previously glaciated regions on land. Simply subtract 0.3 mm/year if you prefer to not include the GIA correction. People are still not taking on board that it is not a linear rise, even though Willis Eschenbach has started to use polynomial fits to the data: http://wattsupwiththat.com/2011/01/08/pu...eleration/ and more here: http://wattsupwiththat.com/2011/05/02/oh...ted-again/ You'll recall I used a sine fit in my analysis some time ago and found it a much better fit than linear and as good as the Willis Eschenbach polynomial. However, a sine fit has a potential predictive skill, and the possibility of a theoretical mechanism; that is unlikely to be present with a polynomial. Willis Eschenbach has not given the degree of polynomial used on the graph. My analysis is available here: http://www.trevoole.co.uk/Questioning_Cl...o_Rise.pdf "Correlation is NOT Causation"

It is suspicious that a correction was needed, only after it was shown that the sea level rise was slowing down.
Similar to James Hansen's GISS temperature data manipulations. It is ALWAYS upward.
