North Icelandic Jet: New Ocean Current Could Change Climate Picture
By IB Times Staff Reporter | August 23, 2011 12:30 AM EDT
The North Icelandic Jet contributes to a key component of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation, also known as the “great ocean conveyor belt,” which is critically important for regulating Earth’s climate, the scientists say. As part of the planet's reciprocal relationship between ocean circulation and climate, this conveyor belt carries warm surface water from the tropical Atlantic toward the Arctic. In the process, the water warms the air in high latitudes, then cools, sinks and returns toward the equator as a deep flow. ~snip~ article link “We do not believe any group of men adequate enough or wise enough to operate without scrutiny or without criticism. We know that the only way to avoid error is to detect it, that the only way to detect it is to be free to inquire. We know that in secrecy error undetected will flourish and subvert”. – J Robert Oppenheimer. |

I recall a simular discovery south of Austraila three or four years ago. And some think they can accurately model this system.

Tell me again --- "The science is settled!" --- or not!
"They" can change the goalposts but we can't!
CO2 comes from coal, coal comes from fossilised trees, fossilised trees come from living trees, living trees growth comes from CO2 therefore coal is carbon neutral. ...from here |
