A new paper about the LGM
Here is something about the LGM:
http://theresilientearth.com/?q=content/...ciers-melt Excerpt: [O]ur geochronology for the LGM clearly demonstrates that only northern insolation led the termination and was thus the primary mechanism for triggering the onset of Northern Hemisphere deglaciation. Moreover, the fact that ice sheets of all sizes, as well as Northern Hemisphere mountain glaciers, began to retreat at approximately the same time (19 to 20 ka) suggests that the primary insolation control on initial deglaciation was through increased summer ablation, which can substantially reduce the long response times of large ice sheets by enabling dynamical processes that lead to rapid mass loss. |

Re: A new paper about the LGM
Oh boy, now I'm getting anxious about getting back home-you've reminded me of that glaciation post I was working on!
Nice paper. More evidence for Milankovitch's theory, and once again it shows how silly blaming everything on CO2 is. |

ICIH:
If you are going back on 40 east let me know as I live about 25 miles north of Morristown and 40 miles north east of Knoxville. |
