Examples of where and when politics HAS crushed science.
Hi All,
I just want to note Bab-i-lov (I will find the correct name later) the scientist / botanist that wanted to use genetics to feed a nation, but, ended up starving to death on a cell floor in Stalin's Russia. Marxist doctrine was anti genetics, so Stailn stopped the science, at any cost. I am sure there are numerous other examples of politics crushing the science, particularly the natural sciences, some of which I hope others may post. In the end there are almost too numerous examples to mention of THE politics crushing science. MAYBE a few other examples will open people's eyes to the exact same thing happening in climate science at present. The politics (IPCC + UN + most all national governments) crushing the actual observable SCIENCE. The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary. H. L. Mencken. The hobgoblins have to be imaginary so that "they" can offer their solutions, not THE solutions. |
