So Dinosaurs Could Fly ! – Part I
Watts Up With That?
June 2,2012 Guest post by Andi Cockroft A look at diminishing atmospheric pressure EXCERPT: In an unrelated article of mine on Isostacy and Mean Sea Level posted here, I mentioned in passing a thesis paper by Theresa Cole (here) and here: ColeTheresaN2011MSc – which included this graph depicting an observed fall in global annual mean atmospheric pressure since 1916 (from NOAA I believe) A recent exchange with Theresa, has caused me to revisit this apparent anomaly, and wonder where this is all heading – and indeed how long this has been going on ! But why the heading – So Dinosaurs Could Fly ? LINK It is our attitude toward free thought and free expression that will determine our fate. There must be no limit on the range of temperate discussion, no limits on thought. No subject must be taboo. No censor must preside at our assemblies. –William O. Douglas, U.S. Supreme Court Justice, 1952 |
