Obama urges poorer nations to fight global warming
Yahoo!
By BEN FELLER, Associated Press Writer EXCERPT: L'AQUILA, Italy President Barack Obama said Thursday the global recession makes it harder to strike an international agreement to battle dangerous temperature increases, but he urged the poor emerging economies that rejected specific clean-energy goals to "fight the temptation toward cynicism" and embrace them soon. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090709/ap_o...r_wh/obama ============================================= The man thinks economically poor nations can bring up $$$ they do not have to afford non existing clean energy equipment and technology. :
It is our attitude toward free thought and free expression that will determine our fate. There must be no limit on the range of temperate discussion, no limits on thought. No subject must be taboo. No censor must preside at our assemblies. –William O. Douglas, U.S. Supreme Court Justice, 1952 |

Re: Obama urges poorer nations to fight global warming
He is just setting the stage for the US,
since we'll be one of those poorer nations once "cap and trade" gets rolling. :o I know you think you understand what you thought I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant! |

Re: Obama urges poorer nations to fight global warming
Environmentalists continue to not realize that it is prosperity that allows them to exist. China and India are perfect examples. People won't and can't care about the environment until they reach a certain level of comfort.
It's quite amazing that the west is expecting developing nations to sacrifice their rise to our level for a doomsday theory. It really illustrates just how out of touch some environmentalists are with reality. Religion has that effect on people I suppose. |

When there is inadequate money for such a bogus hypothesis,it will be resisted.Others like China and India who does have some money, chose not to sign up economically ruinous climate treaties, that barely does anything for CO2 emissions anyway. They are the emerging hero's resisting the desire to gravelly damage their economies to satisfy those who already have developed their economies. It seems unfair for nations like China and India to be asked to sacrifice a portion of their economies to subsidize the developed nations continued existence at the level of living standard the western world has been accustomed to.
Environmentalists continue to not realize that it is prosperity that allows them to exist. China and India are perfect examples. It's quite amazing that the west is expecting developing nations to sacrifice their rise to our level for a doomsday theory. It seems unfair for nations like China and India to be asked to sacrifice a portion of their economies to subsidize the developed nations continued existence at the level of living standard the western world has been accustomed to.
environmentalists should really realize that the more developed a nation becomes, the cleaner they are. Instead of whining and complaining that developed are 'supposedly' spewing deadly GHG into the atmosphere, their energies would be better spend assisting countries like china/india become a developed nation. But then again, i'm really convinced that environmentalists are nothing but socialists (very borderline communists) in sheep's clothing. Why won't they bug developing nations ? because they have nothing. What the greenies want to see is developed nations give up their wealth and transfer it to the developing nations. Don't the greenies realize there are other factors involved like political atmosphere ? Take a look at the recent elections in honduras, they are a developing nation, but yet their political atmosphere is in shambles. giving aid to a country like that would only fund arms and other criminal activities. help those countries establish a stable gov't first then everything else will fall in line, like a 'cleaner' environment. forcing developed countries to go clean is really a moot point, as we're pretty much clean as is. |
