You can change the appearance of the forum from the Default (Babylon) choice to something else.I am using YaBB SE theme,since it is brighter and the button words are much larger.

To make the change if desired,go to your profile and look at the left side of the profile page for, LOOK AND LAYOUT PREFERENCES.Click on that and the new page shows up with the current theme is shown at the top of the page.You can change it by clicking the word CHANGE,there you will see a list of 5 different themes,chose one by clicking on the theme name.

Hopefully you will find one that is acceptable.
