Forum Software change
Hello Guests and Members,

Soon this forum will be converted to myBB forum software, and this means we will leave this SMF set up we have now.

It is tentatively scheduled for Thursday night.

Cheers,

Sunsettommy

It is our attitude toward free thought and free expression that will determine our fate. There must be no limit on the range of temperate discussion, no limits on thought. No subject must be taboo. No censor must preside at our assemblies.

Another forced reaction to Global Warming.

When will it end?

Seriously, let's hope it goes well, SST.

I know you think you understand what you thought I said,
but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant!

Wink RE: Forum Software change
Hello forum visitors and readers,

I see that there are some button problems to fix.

I am working on it,but may just import a theme I really like to replace this default theme we have now.Hopefully that will fix the problems.

Please bear with us as we fix up this forum.

RE: Forum Software change
The site has a problem with eastern time when I tell it to automatically adjust for DST. The time is 1 hour off. If I use Central time and auto adjust it is off 1 hour the other way or correct for CST. So I used the option to ignore Daylight Savings Time.
Just a FYI.

I know there is a problem and that is because I have to figure out the GMT for America, before I make the board setting.

RE: Forum Software change
I'm also noticing that in the "Thread Subscription" section when Posting a Reply, the default is "Subscribe and recieve email notification of new replies".

Can that be changed to default to "Do not subscribe to this thread"?

Oh, and I didn't have a problem whith the time settings - first I set my current time using the "do not adjust for Daylight savings time" (or similar) option, saved it to see if it was right, then I changed it to "automatically adjust", and saved it which is now correct. Maybe that is the trick?

Look in your USER CP,to set the subscription settings.

Lots of settings for this new board. Takes a little while to find them all.

In SMF,I could not stop the notifications (subscriptions),here it is easy since all you have to do is delete them, and easy to do in the User CP.

Go look at the moderator options at the bottom of this page.

I did this to see what the board does as the last was added to the one before with a line between.Confused
I think I like the quick reply more as there are fewer optionsTongue

That's what I was discussing.

You can change it in your User Control Panel - Edit Options - "Messaging and Notifications" section - select "Default thread subscription mode" to "Do Not subscribe". Then choose "update options" at the bottom of the panel.

That'll do it.
