UK tax-payers fund climate
Christopher Booker has revealed some of the many ways UK tax-payers have funded climate related projects around the world.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/colum...-ways.html

This is probably the tip of an iceberg again. If his final remark is anything to go on then maybe, just possibly, an investigation will be launched by Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs.

Quote:But a good many of them would seem to apply only too neatly to the veil of obscurity our Government draws over the astronomical sums it is paying out in support of its religious belief in "climate change".

This is just a classic UK politically correct trait:
Quote:let alone £10,000 for a "workshop on women as 'sacred custodians' of the Earth", to "explore the spiritual, religious and philosophical views concerning women and ecology and the policy implications of these belief systems"

RE: UK tax-payers fund climate
Quote:The trail into this tangled undergrowth began last December, when Dr Richard North and I were trying to track down 11 payments made by four separate government departments for projects involving Teri Europe, the London-based branch of Dr Pachauri's institute. We were struck by how reluctant the ministries often seemed to be to reveal how much they had paid under these contracts. What's more, why was UK taxpayers' money being used to fund these projects in the first place?

My anger index went super critical when I read the BBC are using this scam to bolster their failing pension funds. The funds failed because of government interference by brown when he was chancelor. I lost half my pension.

That is horrible and that man is now Prime Minister!

What are the odds that the political parties have invested in carbon trading and other scam schemes to bolster their campaigning funds?

And just to continue the cheerful note of this thread; see here:

Seven Myths About Green Jobs

Quote:Bureaucracy: In practice, “green investments” get spent on red tape. “Green jobs” are taken by bureaucrats, siphoning resources away from the productive sectors of the economy.
Waste: For those advocating “green jobs”, inefficiency is a virtue. A United Nations study on green jobs actually calls for fruit to be picked by hand rather than machine. “Green” subsidies effectively pay companies to make everyday items more expensive and scarce, taxing the public twice over.
Debt: Today’s “green investments” are made by increasing Britain’s colossal national debt, borrowing heavily in the hope of making future generations richer. If the green gamble fails, our children and grandchildren will be left with the bill.
“Green investment” isn’t even a reliable way to improve the environment, the study finds. Steel is one of the world’s most carbon-intensive industries, yet the United Nations Environment Programme counts steelworkers as having “green jobs”, because steel is needed to make wind turbines.
