Climate Change and the Death of Science
Buy the Truth
Published October 31, 2009 EXCERPT: What has become of science? We thought that science was about the pursuit of truth. Then we became perplexed at how quickly scientists have prostituted themselves in the service of political agendas. We have seen the unedifying spectacle of scientists refusing to share their data, fiddling their results, and resorting to ad hominem attacks on those who have exposed their work to be fraudulent. We have seen the Royal Society becoming a shamelessly crude advocacy society. We have seen President Obama choosing notorious climate alarmists and liars to be his personal advisors. We have seen the peer review process and journal editors colluding to prevent publication of results that do not serve the politically-correct agenda, and scientists refusing to consider results that demolish their pet theories. What is going on here? LINK ====================================================== Post-normal science is a dreaded development that needs to be stopped. It is our attitude toward free thought and free expression that will determine our fate. There must be no limit on the range of temperate discussion, no limits on thought. No subject must be taboo. No censor must preside at our assemblies. –William O. Douglas, U.S. Supreme Court Justice, 1952 |

RE: Climate Change and the Death of Science
Rather worse than politics I fear. This is an orchestrated attempt at global world control. I assume they, the UN and western governments, expect China to accept this takeover bid as it is already firmly communist.
I sense a feeling of panic as the UN and co drive up the schedule of global meetings to try and achieve accord but the climate itself is no longer cooperating. CO2 comes from coal, coal comes from fossilised trees, fossilised trees come from living trees, living trees growth comes from CO2 therefore coal is carbon neutral. ...from here |

They do not need the climate anymore, just enough pliant lemmings to establish control with. The weak is always the first to be exploited when an authoritarian power has been established, yet it is often those very same victims who allow it to happen with their uncritical support. RE: Climate Change and the Death of Science
Hi All,
I wonder if "we" here are all guilty of a bit of a "euro / USA" centric view. Yes, Europe and USA (and Japan) have all drunk way too much "koolaide", BUT, the BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India, AND China - combined 40% of the world's economy) most definately have not. NB - Paying occasional and appropriate lip service to the "green cause" your "enemies" appear engaged upon towards their own self destruction is NOT the same thing as "drinking the koolaide". - It is better described as obviously helping where and when possible to weaken the competition, so BRIC can benefit. At a global scale this is becoming a more even "battle" as the USA / Europe is in economic decline, and the BRIC countries go from strength to strength. The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary. H. L. Mencken. The hobgoblins have to be imaginary so that "they" can offer their solutions, not THE solutions. |

RE: Climate Change and the Death of Science
Over at Calder's Updates there is a disturbing essay
Wishful thinking, Czech style it is heavy reading (for me) as I see parallels with current world events and the enforced doctrine of "anthropogenic global warming". Intro: Quote:Every since Thomas More invented the term, utopias have cast futures in a “normative” manner, saying here’s how the world ought to be. Such wishful thinking is political. The Marxist vision of a better world of true Communism, “from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs,” led huge sections of the human species into the long dark tunnels of Stalinism and Maoism, where utopia was deferred indefinitely. CO2 comes from coal, coal comes from fossilised trees, fossilised trees come from living trees, living trees growth comes from CO2 therefore coal is carbon neutral. ...from here |
