RE: Will Alexander archive
First, Derek, many thanks for that archive. Second, I downloaded and saved every file to my backup USB drive as a guest. No problems at all. I had to login to say thank you for all your work in putting these archives together.
![]() I happened to mention to my wife that Will Alexander was signing out. She asked "Who He?" Well, when I told her she said she wanted to read all his messages!! My wife was born in South Africa. Her great great grandparents were part of the 1820 Settlers. I met and married her in 1977 and brought her to the UK 1991. We settled in Milford Haven because her family originated from this area. Her great grand uncle on her mothers side was manager of Milford Haven docks until 1900. From 1900 to 1914 he owned the biggest fishing fleet here. The government took his boats at the start of the 1914/18 war and didn't re-emburse him. Such is life.I spent over 20 years in South Africa. I worked for a few years in the Computer Science department of Rhodes University in Grahamstown. I never got to the Witwatersrand. We understand what Will Alexander is talking about when he refers to events and situations in South Africa. Thanks again for putting this archive together. RE: RE: Will Alexander archive
Thank you Richard111.
I sent an email to Will Alexander just yesterday asking him if he would send me any of his memos I do not have on the archive yet. I have not emailed Will before, so do not know if I will get a reply, however an email from yourself to him in this regard may well help my request. Is there any possibility you would email him please to "back up", or "reinforce" my request. Your wife's, and your South African "connections" may well help. Thanks in advance, Derek. The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary. H. L. Mencken. The hobgoblins have to be imaginary so that "they" can offer their solutions, not THE solutions. |

RE: RE: Will Alexander archive
I am not sure if you have seen the last of Will Alexander yesterday at Pielke Sr´s:
