Re: Windows 7
I'm still looking for that 16 TB limit on volumes other than primary,
but h e r e ' s verification of the 2 TB limit. Edit to add: Way down under "Limitations" in this Wikipedia article is a statement that: Quote:Using the default cluster size of 4 KiB, the maximum NTFS volume size is 16 TiB minus 4 KiB. (Both of these are vastly higher than the 128 GiB limit lifted in Windows XP SP1.) Because partition tables on master boot record (MBR) disks only support partition sizes up to 2 TiB, dynamic or GPT volumes must be used to create bootable NTFS volumes over 2 TiB. I know you think you understand what you thought I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant! |

Re: Windows 7
Why do we need that much memory?
It is our attitude toward free thought and free expression that will determine our fate. There must be no limit on the range of temperate discussion, no limits on thought. No subject must be taboo. No censor must preside at our assemblies. –William O. Douglas, U.S. Supreme Court Justice, 1952 |

Not RAM, SST, hard drive size.

Not RAM, SST, hard drive size.
given that it is microsoft, wouldn't surprise me if 16 TB of memory would be the norm ! ;D ;D |

Re: Windows 7
Actually, Windows 7 will run well on less RAM than Vista.

Not RAM, SST, hard drive size.
Yeah, that is what I should have stated.Still that is way more than enough HD for today's use. Mine is 750 GB,HD with QUAD Core 8GB RAM. More than enough for me. It is our attitude toward free thought and free expression that will determine our fate. There must be no limit on the range of temperate discussion, no limits on thought. Mcclane:
If you are looking to buy a hard drive go for 1T as anything less will be obsolete soon. A 500 G would do if you leave room for adding another later. |
