O'Reilly and Global Warming
Bill Reilly, know it all Fox analyst with huge viewing audience recently said he believes in AGW. Of course he points to his infallible "research" as the reason for his belief. When challenged by a viewer in a letter he says he gets his information from NOAA, National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration. The stats he cites are the bogus old Hockey Stick stats of :
1. 8 of the last 10 years have been the warmest on record 2. Average Global Temperature has increased 3 degrees since 1970 Us skeptics know that the Hockey Stick Chart has been thoroughly debunked and we are actually in a cooling period since about 1998. About what's with NOAA? Anyone know why they are still promoting this bunk? |

Re: O'Reilly and Global Warming
Funding! It is all about money! NOAA is now the alarm capital of the world with their new methods of adjustments. The head of the NOAA and all senior scientists need to be put out to pasture now! They were very involved in the IPCC reports and released a report claiming it is worse than we thought because we adjusted the data to show how bad it is getting. See this site:
http://www.globalchange.gov/ From the mouths of #######. "Climate Change Impacts Global Climate Change Impacts in the United States: Report Home Page The most comprehensive, authoritative report on Global Climate Change Impacts in the United States was released on Tuesday June 16th, 2009. This report presents, in plain language, the science and impacts of climate change on the United States, now and in the future. It focuses on climate change impacts on U.S. regions and various aspects of society and the economy such as energy, water, agriculture, and health. A comprehensive series of web-pages were developed that highlight the findings and major conclusions of the report and contain complete downloadable files of the report, as well as a host of additional content on climate change impacts on the U.S." |

Re: O'Reilly and Global Warming
Quote:2. Average Global Temperature has increased 3 degrees since 1970 He really believe this lie? He must have meant .3 degrees, that is still a little high too,but no longer a big lie. I have always consider Mr. O'Reilly erratic in his beliefs on the topics. If he is indeed another AGW believer, then he is plain wrong. It is our attitude toward free thought and free expression that will determine our fate. There must be no limit on the range of temperate discussion, no limits on thought. No subject must be taboo. No censor must preside at our assemblies. –William O. Douglas, U.S. Supreme Court Justice, 1952 |

Where he gets his information from, I don't know since he never cites it. |

Re: O'Reilly and Global Warming
He should stick to partisan politics his forte. He is a media animal and perhaps he believes he can convert liberal AGW believers into his political beliefs if he agrees with them on this. Or perhaps he is just to focused on his area of belief to do the research needed.
Anyone who wanted to be taken seriously on anything must have several sites of reference to their stated beliefs....he should know that. Doug |

Re: O'Reilly and Global Warming
I challenge any greenie to turn up the thermostat in their home by 1 degree C and leave it for a week. See if they turn up dead or not. Then have them turn down the thermostat by 1 degree C, and see if they survive that. If they do, then +/- 1 degree C difference on the earth really isn't going to make that much of a difference.

[/quote] In my house the thermostat is set at 75 degrees for the summer.Feel fine with that and what is more the power consumption goes down.Plus I cover over the windows on the afternoon side of the house, greatly reducing AC run time. I wonder if they paint their homes green? It is our attitude toward free thought and free expression that will determine our fate.
